Hi all. Some details about me can be found in the forums under DRAWING, but to reiterate, I am 80 years, live in New Zealand and have been drawing off and on..mostly off...for decades. Through the last couple of years it has been my major hobby, mainly sketching.
The point of this blog is to give some pointers to those retired ones who are looking for a simple hobby to engage in. Simple? Well, all you need is a pencil and a sheet of paper, graphite wood-cased/mechanical/stick pencils and ordinary 80gsm copy paper will do for a nstart.
My prefered pencils are Bic mechanical 0.7, readily available around the world. My most used set is 2H, H, HB, B, 2B. Then there are three 0.5 mechs and a couple of 0.3 for really fine stuff - HB and B only.
To get going subscribe to Artmaker and take the free 10 lesson course!
And remember - there are three rules for drawing: No 1 is Practice!
The other two rules later...
